“I would not join a gym because I don’t like the typical gym environment. That all changed when I met Corinna and toured Studio 6 Health Club. Studio 6 is an upscale club where you never feel out of place regardless of your fitness level, age or gender. As a 33 year old mother of 3 I had gained some weight. I joined 4 months ago in March 2010, I have already lost over 20 lbs and I have increased my endurance substantially. I love my results!! It’s a locally owned and operated facility which means a lot to me. You know the person behind the counter cares! Corinna does it right! If you want to get in the best shape of your life I recommend joining the program at Studio 6 Heath club.”

“It’s not your ordinary gym. Yes, everything is top notch. The equipment, the facilities, even the showers are first-rate. They also offer a variety of classes to complete your workout goals. But none of this is what truly sets Studio 6 apart from the other gyms. The difference is the “family” touch. You’re not just a member of a gym, you’re a member of a family. This family consists of specialized trainers, nutritionists, a massage therapist and of course the members; we love it!”

“Forty. For some it’s only a number, others it’s the realization that you are about to crest the proverbial hill of life and it would be—literally as well as figuratively—all downhill from there.
For me it was a realization, after a long look in the mirror, that if I didn’t make some serious changes, health-wise, I probably wouldn’t be around to see fifty. I had set myself a goal (not necessarily a resolution) in January to treat myself better and make lifestyle changes that would benefit me in the long run and approaching my fortieth birthday in April reinforced that.
So I set out to see a doctor and get an idea where I stood, health-wise and what improvements needed to be made. When I went in for the appointment and I initially stepped on the scale, I knew it was going to be bad but when the number came up, I was astonished and horrified—and just a tad bit angry. I had let myself go to an appalling weight of 296 pounds and I was actually 25 pounds more than I thought I was. This was the initial shock in which I had resolved to do something about it and when I was sent by the doctor for blood workup, the results which came back sealed the deal.
My cholesterol was bad. LDL’s were high and HDL’s were low, both of which are bad but the one thing that really scared me were the elevated liver enzyme and triglyceride levels that came back. Seeing my father pass away from cirrhosis in 2007 was not a pleasant thing to see and after doing a fair amount of research on “fatty liver” which I was diagnosed with after an ultrasound, I realized that unless major changes were made, I could head down that same road. That, in the words of my supervisor, was totally unacceptable.
It is at this point that Studio 6 comes in to play. I was looking around Hagerstown for a health club/gym where I could go and not only get in shape but get support from the staff. After visiting three different ones, Studio 6 was the one I chose and I am pleased that I made the right choice. I had been going to a larger gym in the previous year which I was not happy with. Almost each time which I would go, no matter what time, it was always crowded (in my opinion overcrowded) and would have to wait for equipment and the number of staff on hand I feel was insufficient. If you had a question and wanted an opinion, you had to stop your workout and hunt someone down.
Studio 6 is a refreshing departure from that mentality. They are looking to only admit a certain small number of members into the club as to insure they can work with each of their members on a personal one-on-one basis. Brent and Corinna are always accessible should you need help or have a question. They also are very supportive and offer encouragement and positive reinforcement. Two items that I believe are essential for people like me who can see a task like the one I am undertaking to try and lose a large amount of weight in an effort to be healthier as an intimidating and daunting task.
They are also very hands-on with each of the members they work with, which allows them to know their individual progress and offer tips and possible courses of action that are proper for each person’s unique situation.
The club is also very, very clean—almost fanatically so. The equipment is also new and state of the art. Bathrooms and locker-rooms are spacious, bordering on luxurious with clean towels and high-end soaps and shampoos in the showers and sinks. There is a nutritionist on staff and they offer a number of classes as well as massages. The overall atmosphere is not only relaxing, but also centering. That too in my opinion helps one to concentrate on the task at hand.
I have been a member with Studio 6 since early April and the one thing that I have noticed that stands out is not only what I have mentioned above, but also the variety of clientele the staff works with—younger adults in their late teens and 20’s, people my age and older people who are looking just to stay active. They will work with anyone.
Personally, the above mentioned items have made a dramatic and lasting impact on me. As of this writing, I am down to 258 pounds and have lost 38 pounds. I go three-four nights a week and look forward to doing so.
I can’t begin to thank Brent and Corinna enough for all the help and support they have given me and I guess this is one of the ways I can show that thanks is to let others who are in a similar situation as myself know that Studio 6 can help you achieve your fitness goals. I am proof that they can help you achieve those goals.”

We “would like to thank you both for opening Studio 6. We are both greatly impressed with your enthusiasm and caring manner and we find this exceptional! The bike class is wonderful and your focus on a “true cardio” workout is outstanding but you both always make this a fun experience each and every time! We both look forward to new programs offered at Studio 6 and your continued expert guidance in our workout routines”.
